of light and madness
(C)Copyright 1996 - (1/14/97)

i stand here facing north
watching the horizon bend
which only in my freakish world
does it and the highest zenith blend

unplug the television
watch the final blip of light
as it turns into a single line
and you'll behold my muffled sight

this is my world
they tell me that i'm blind
but i see more than you, friend
through the cosmic window in my mind

you see, but yet you don't
you overestimate my weakness
i radiate light from this hollow shell
while you wallow in visual bleakness

when you're near, i smell you
when you tiptoe, your steps i hear
i know you're ripe when i taste you
i sense your sadness in a tear

watch me dance, and know i'm happy
hear me sing, be sure i'm content
just pluck out your eyes, my friend
i promise you'll see what i meant

so close your eyes with me one time
hear our hearts beat a common song
and sing with me, we'll all be happy
you'll see it was you who was so wrong

i'm blind? hah! you never knew!
a freak, am i? it's all black and white.
for it was you, friend, who was blind.
and had I alone the gift of sight.
